Artwork Requirements For Printing

The quality of your finished print depends heavily on the file supplied. We recommend you use a professional graphics package to create your artwork - The Adobe CS suite, Quark, Corel and the like.

File Formats

Our preferred file format is PDF. Please ensure all fonts are correctly embedded or converted to paths/curves and that all embedded graphics are saved at minimum of 300dpi.

If you are creating your files with Quark please export them as PDF, again ensuring all fonts and graphics are correctly embedded.

If you prefer working with EPS files please ensure all text is converted to paths or outlines. Or alternatively convert your EPS file to PDF.

We also accept all standard image formats such as TIFF, JPEG and PSD. Please ensure such files are created and saved CMYK at 300dpi. TIFF or JPEG formats are not recommended for fine text or line work. A package such as Adobe Illustrator using postscript font data ensures a far crisper text and line output.

Document Layout

Most of our products follow standard 'A' paper sizes. Please supply everything in a 'one up' basis i.e. provide one business card on a 85mm x 55mm (91mm x 61mm including bleed) page or one A4 leaflet on a 210mm x 297mm (216mm x 303mm including bleed) page.

Bleed

All files should be supplied with a 3mm bleed. For example, an A4 leaflet has a finished size of 210mm x 297mm however; your supplied file should be 216mm x 303mm including bleed, to allow for trimming. Images, background colours and fills which are intended to extend to the edge of the final trimmed page should be extended to outer edge of the bleed area. Text, boxes and other areas you need on your finished job should sit a minimum of 5mm in from the edge of the finished page size (or 8mm from the outer edge of the bleed area. Files supplied without the correct 3mm bleed will be returned for correction.

Colour

Please ensure your artwork is created within a CMYK work space. Creating artwork as RGB and then converting to CMYK can create unwanted variations in the final output colour as well as issues with the print process.
